4. Cookies

We use cookies on our website. These are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are stored on your terminal (laptop, tablet, smartphone etc.) when you visit our site. Cookies do not damage your terminal in any way and contain no viruses, trojans or other malware.

In the cookie, information that is specifically produced in connection with the specific terminal used is stored. This does not however mean that we thereby acquire immediate knowledge of your identity.

The use of cookies serves on the one hand to make use of what we offer more convenient for you. Thus, we use so-called session cookies in order to detect that you have already visited individual pages of our website. These are automatically deleted after you leave our site.

In addition, also to optimise user friendliness, we use temporary cookies that are stored on your terminal for a certain given period. If you visit our site again to avail yourself of our services, it is automatically detected that you have already visited us and what inputs and settings you have used, so that you do not have to input these again.

On the other hand, we use cookies in order to record use of our website statistically and to evaluate what we offer you for optimisation purposes (see section 5). These cookies allow us to detect automatically when you visit our site again that you have already done so. These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined period.

5. Analytical tools

a) Tracking-Tools

The tracking measures used by us listed below are carried out on the basis of Article 6 (1) clause 1 (f) DSGVO. With the tracking measures used we aim to ensure a needs-based design and continuous optimisation for our website. We further use the tracking measures to record use of our website statistically and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimising what we offer you. These interests are to be viewed as legitimate within the meaning of the above regulation.

For the respective data processing purposes and data categories, please refer to the tracking tools in question.

i) Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; in the following “Google”) for the purpose of achieving a needs-based design and continuous optimisation of our web pages. In this connection, pseudonymised user profiles are created and cookies (see section 4) used. The information generated by the cookies on your use of this website such as

browser type / version,

operating system used,

referrer URL (the previously visited page),

hostname of the accessing computer (IP address),

time of server request,

is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The information is used to evaluate use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide further services related to use of the website and the internet for purposes of market research and needs-based design of these internet pages. This information may also where appropriate be transmitted to third parties where this is legally required or if third parties process these data on Google’s behalf. In no case will your IP address be consolidated with other data of Google. IP addresses are anonymised so that no assignment is possible (IP masking).

You can prevent the installation of cookies with an appropriate setting of the browser software; we would however point out that in this case it may not be possible to use all the functions of this website to their full extent.

You can in addition prevent the collection of cookie-generated data related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing a browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).

As an alternative to the browser add-on, particularly with browsers on mobile devices, you can also prevent collection by Google Analytics by clicking on this link. An opt-out cookie is set that prevents future collection of your data when you visit this website. The opt-out cookie only applies to this browser and our website and is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you need to set the opt-out cookie again.

You will find further information regarding data protection in connection with Google Analytics at Google Analytics Help (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de).

ii) Google Adwords Conversion Tracking

To record use of our website statistically and evaluate it for the purpose of optimising our website for you, we further use Google Conversion Tracking. In the process a cookie (see section 4) is set on your computer by Google Adwords if you have reached our website via a Google advertisement.

These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and do not conduce to personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of the Adwords client’s website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the client can detect that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page.

Each Adwords client receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be kept track of via the websites of Adwords clients. The information collected by means of the conversion cookies serves to generate conversion statistics for Adwords clients who have opted for Conversion Tracking. The Adwords clients find out the total number of users who have clicked on their ad and been redirected to a conversion-tracking tag page. They do not however receive any information which would allow users to be personally identified.

If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you may decline the setting of cookies required for this – for instance by a browser setting that generally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies. You can also deactivate cookies for Conversion Tracking by setting your browser so as to block cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com”. Google’s privacy policy on Conversion Tracking can be found here (https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html).
